First up tonight is the Django Reinhardt Festival celebrating the 100th anniversary of Stéphane Grappelli, the French jazz violinist who founded the Quintette du Hot Club de France with guitarist Django Reinhardt. It was one of the first (and arguably the most famous) of all-string jazz bands (video here). The second half of tonight's show is John Pizzarelli and the Swing 7, performing selections from Mr. Pizzarelli's new album (link goes to video) Dear Mr. Sinatra.
Proably the most exciting and fun jazz concerts we have heard at the Kimmel. More like this one.
Dorado's crew was great. Everyone in Tier 2 was tapping toes. Can anyone tell me the names of the songs that DRF played?
