Johnny Mathis, September 16, 2007

Posted at September 16, 2007 03:00 PM in Pop .

Johnny_Mathis.jpgIn the house of my childhood, Johnny Mathis is sacred. "The Twelfth of Never" is my parents' song, and his version of the "Hallelujah" chorus kicks off the holidays first thing on Friday morning after Thanksgiving. Mathis is currently celebrating 51 years as an entertainer, and he's still going strong (a new CD out soon).

Let us know what you thought of the concert!

72 years young? My colleagues and I were discussing how wonderful Johnny looks as did Ertha Kitt who appeared last season....and how about that voice that holds onto notes for days! It was a great way to kick off the 2007-2008 season.

What kind of paparazzi am I that I missed this event?

I have loved Johnny's voice since I was 5 yrs old! I have tickets to see him in Atlanta the day after Thanksgiving, a dream come true! Does anyone know how to email him or how to join a fan club of his? I want him to sing the song YELLOW ROSES ON HER GOWN FOR ME. I had cancer 2 years ago and hearing Johnny Mathis in concert is on my To Do list before I die. If anyone knows how I can contact him before the concert so I can request this song, please email me: tazlover54@yahoo.com. Please do not fill my email full of junk mail, just let me know how to contact Johnny Mathis and request this song at the concert. If the subject line does not contain his name I will delete the email without reading it. I would greatly appreciate any help I receive with this. Thank You and God Bless.

I have fallen in Love all over again. I remember my Mother having Johnny Mathis on the record player and when I saw his special on PBS for his 50th Anniversary....when I heared him sing "Maria", I felt like changing my name.....He sounds as great now as he did listening to Mothers records.

Have been a fan since high school(50's) when he started singing. Joined his fan club and received a birthday card every year from him, but once I moved never received a card again. Miss that.
I have been to many of his concerts and always enjoy his performances. Would love to receive his cards again.
Will be seeing him again in Vegas when he is there and in Atlantic City. He was recently upstate NY and i saw him there. Excellent as always.

I have been trying desperately to get a copy of Johnny Mathis' version of Sunny. It's on his album entitled "Johnny Mathis Sings." Does anyone know where I can get a copy?

Posted by Dolores at December 1, 2007 08:44 PM

I have a photograph of Johnny Mathis being interviewed by my husband, former radio personality,Gregg Hall... a long long time ago. Johnny has never seen this picture. I would love to be able to send him a copy. Maybe he would autograph a copy for me. Anyone know his "Fan Club" contact?

Thanks,
Beverly

My mother-in-law has been a life long fan. She was in the fan club and used to get birthday cards and other things (which brought her great joy!) On March 2 we will be celebrating her 75th birthday and I wanted to know if she could get a special happy birthday wish from Mr Mathis. It is a blessing and a miracle she is still with us. She is a cancer serviver and is now, sadly, lossing her sight. I love her dearly and this would mean the world to her. On every gift giving occasion we ask her what she wants and her reply is always "Johnny Mathis!

I love Johnny Mathis and am wondering if he is going to do a concert in Atlantic City this year. I have been going to his concerts there for a few years and his web site does not show Atlantic City. Would anybody know if he will be there or not?

I have searched all over the net and I cannot find the right email address which I can contact for information on Johnny Mathis. I really need to know if there are any plans to tour the UK. If anyone could email me at annadoyleuk@yahoo.co.uk that would be great.

My beloved wife, Bobbie passed away April, 2006.
We were avid fans of Johnny and attended many of
his concerts. Our "song" was MISTY and UNTIL the Twelfth of never.
. Now that she is gone forever, those songs
with Johnny, I play over and over again and hear
on the radio, with tears and great memories of
those great 45 yrs. past.
Thank you Johnny!
Bob

I, too, am trying to either find Johnny's Fan Club information or how to write to him.
I am attending a concert on my 65th. birthday in Milwaukee, and I just have to let him know what a special birthday he is giving me.
THANKS!

I have just finished a round of radiation for newly diagnosed breast cancer. When I was asked what type of music I liked, I asked the technicican if she had Johnny Mathis. I listened to this CD over and over and over again. It sure made the time fly by. I went to my first Johnny Mathis concert when I was in college in the late 60's. Now I am 60 and battling cancer. His voice still makes me melt. Thank you Johnny!

Has anyone heard the JM album away from home
and is it still available anywhere

My husband and I were married on Sept.8, 2008. We invited Johnny to our wedding ,although I
knew he would not be able to attend I did it anyway. What a thrill I got when the mail came and there was an authographed picture of "The Man" wishing us a happy married life. Needless to say that picture was displayed at the wedding and is now displayed in our living room.

I've been trying to get "Tears and Laughter" on CD for my Dad who is a fan of Johnny's. I've tried to use the website (johnnymathis.com) where there is a link to the Fan Club, thinking they'd probably be the best people to contact, but the page never ever opens. Like two hours later and it's still trying to open it! If anybody can give me an email addres for the fan Club I'd appreciate it greatly, please bear in mind I live in the UL so no phone numbers please! If anybody mails me about this please put "Johnny Mathis" in the subject title or mail gets eaten by the Junk mail filters! Cheers.

Does anyone know where I can get a recording of a song Johnny Mathis sang on the Johnny Carson Show. Some of the words are: "She'd like to travel, to parts unknown, to see the wonders before they're gone. She always wanted to write a book; she hates to cook, but she loves me." Johnny Carson said following the rendition. "Just a lovely song." I want it desperately!!!

"She'd like to travel to parts unknown ..." ~ "SHE LOVES ME ~ by Jerry Fuller {A video post of Mathis and this song is available on You Tube}.

I would like to send an email to Johnny, we went to GW High School and I see he will be in the Sacramento, CA area in a few months. We shot hoops together many years ago.
