Jerry Blavat's Doo Wop Reunion, April 15, 2007

Posted at April 15, 2007 05:20 PM in Philly Local , Pop .

The Geator is back at the Kimmel Center. This time, he's bringing seven memorable Doo Wop acts from the fifties and sixties. These are the groups responsible for hits like "Sixteen Candles," "You Belong to Me," "Just to Be with You," and "Till Then." Did you celebrate your tax refund with the Geator? How was the show?

What a fantastic show!! Especially loved the Duprees, Kenny Vance & Johnny Maestro! The pairing of Johnny and Kenny doing "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" was so great!!

First time at the Kimmel, but certainly won't be our last. It is a beautiful venue.

Jerry never ceases to disappoint us. My husband and I have attended most of the 16 Doo Wop Shows but April 15th was memorable. Pairing Kenny Vance and Johnny Maestro for "you've lost that loving feeling" had the entire first balconey up on their feet and singing along.

Jerry, after 40 years and he is still the same. nostalgia. he is definitely something else. bigger than life he is not the normal person. they change thru time yet the geator remains the same. you definitely got something more on your side than all of normal people. love Jerry and still busting loose to get to his shows, margate, kimmel west trenton firehouse, elks lodge and now you got me running to the philly casino on wednesday nights. you go boy! one more thing, there was a female group singing their hit (because of my best friend) if you can tell me the group's name or where to pickup the cd i will give you a shout. thanks
