OTC (On the Card)
That’s where it resides ‘til I own it, right? On the credit card? I try to pay cash, but that’s not always possible. Especially with last weeks purchase—Keb Mo’s Suitcase, T Bone Burnett’s The True False Identity, and Fellini’s 8 ½. I don’t have an mp3 player, yet, but then again it’s not the device, it’s the music, right?
T Bone Burnett The True False Identity
I must say this was a nice surprise. He’s as much or more of a poet as he is a musician. Biting, sarcastic, inciteful/insightful lyrics, funky groove, adventurous harmonies (at times) political skewering, Dylan-esque at times, his first solo album in 14 years…
“Fear Country” especially, is wonderful:
Cowboy with no cattle warrior with no war
They don’t make imposters like John Wayne anymore
