Golden Age Film Classics, May 21st

Posted at May 21, 2006 12:00 PM in Organ .

This afternoon, two great silent films will be shown as they were meant to be seen, with improvised organ accompaniment. First up, The General starring Buster Keaton, and second, The Mark of Zorro starring Douglas Fairbanks, Sr. Tom Trenney will provide the improvised accompaniment.

How was the movie?

I saw "The General" yesterday and it was very funny. Tom Trenney's organ accompanyment was wonderful--clever and creative. The Fred J. Cooper Organ sounded marvelous--everything from the birds chirping to the troops marching. The audience members cheered and hissed enthusiastically. I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and was only sorry that I couldn't stay for "The Mark of Zorro". All in all, it was a hoot! Bravo!
