National Symphony Orchestra, April 5th

Although this important orchestra is in residence at the Kennedy Center, just a couple of hours away, tonight marks the Kimmel Center debuts of the National Symphony Orchestra and their legendary Music Director Leonard Slatkin. Joining the NSO and Mr. Slatkin is frequent guest of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Emanuel Ax. The first piece on the program is by Samuel Barber, a native from the Philadelphia area and former student at The Curtis Institute of Music. Come discuss tonight's performance by our neighbors to the south.
