Lang Lang, April 18th

Posted at April 18, 2006 05:19 PM in Classical .

There's no argument that Lang Lang is a star in the classical world. Tonight, in addition to taking on composers like Mozart and Schumann, he will also perform traditional works by Chinese composers.

How did you like this performance?

Impressive. And patient. Not my forte, this.

...just tell me, how does that right hand move that way...how...rapid fire machine gun like, perfect octaves...the woman sitting next to me said "he took my breath away, literally, I can't breath..."

Without question one of the finest evenings of music making I have heard at the Kimmel Center in nearly 5 years of attending - that includes the other two recitals Lang Lang has given us. His playing is maturing, his technique is even more dazzling (is this possible?) and he introduced us all to some wonderful new work.

Lang Lang...PLEASE stay in Philadelphia!
