This young British star comes to the Kimmel Center tonight having sold more than two million copies of his worldwide debut album Twentysomething and having just released his second album Catching Tales. Opening the show tonight is Brandie Carlile.
First of all, Brandi Carlile was AMAZING. She has quite a powerful voice, and can lilt between her exquisite falsetto and back with ease. Her cover of Leonard Cohen's "Halleluja" was magnificent -- almost like how Janis Joplin might have done it (while sober).
Jamie is a nut, in all the best possible ways. His jazzy-old-school twist on material that almost wants to be hip-hop is addictive and just plain fun. And his boundless energy is contagious.
Thanks to both of them for all the wonderful things they had to say about the Kimmel Center and Philadelphia! Hey Jamie, how was your cheesteak after the show??
Jamie's show was quite possibly the best show ive seen all year. I loved your album "Tales" but had no idea how good the show would turn out to be. Im definatly making sure i see a reapeat preformance in AC. And yeah philly steaks, are the best in the world.
I LOVE JAMIE!!!!! MARRY ME!!!!! OK SEE YOU BYE,
