Unfortunately, James Levine suffered a minor injury and won't be leading the Boston Symphony tonight. In his place will be David Robertson, who has been a guest conductor of The Philadelphia Orchestra. Lorraine Hunt Lieberson will be featured tonight, signing a work by her husband, Peter Lieberson, which sets Pablo Neruda's songs to music.
What did you think? Did you miss James Levine?
Boston Symphony was amazing. Neruda poetry is spectacular in any form, but hearing it set to music and sung so beautifully was wonderful. The Beethoven was rich and powerful and glorious.
