Experiencing a post-New Year revelry lull? Fear not...Chinese New Year is on the way! Although it lands on a different day each year according to the Gregorian calendar, Chinese New Year a/k/a Lunar New Year, or Spring Festival, according to Wikipedia, is the first day of the first month of the Chinese calendar.

4703, or 2006, if you prefer, is the Year of the Dog. To learn more about how wonderful Dog people are, and to find out your Chinese zodiac sign, check out this site: http://www.rainfall.com/horoscop/chinese.htm.

Monkey that I am, I've got to get back to work, but if you're looking for a local Chinese New Year celebration, the Delaware Asian Culture Center and NTDTV (that's New Tang Dynasty Television) are co-hosting a bash at the Grand Opera House in Wilmington, DE on January 24. Majestic displays of Chinese myths and legends will share the stage with Chinese classical and folk music and dance. Check it out and let us know what you think.

Wishing you peace, joy and prosperity in the Year of the Dog!

Happy Chinese New Year to all! Hard to believe that 4703 is finally here!! Thanks for the link to the zodiac sign. I found out that I am a dog person as well so this is my year. Its pretty accurate what they say about us dog people. If you are lucky to have a dog person in your life, hang on to them. We make great lifelong friends. So to all the dog people out there, enjoy the year and much success to you all. ~N.L.
