Alexander Graham has been illustrating books and animating films for more than thirty years, but this site shows some of his most interesting work. His cartoon caricatures of jazz masters are sly, occasionally reverent, but always a glimpse of something you suspect about the musician. Like, his rendering of Ornette Coleman as an otherworldly sort of being going in four directions at once. His vision of John Coltrane is particularly sad and beautiful.
