Jane admits, "I'm one of those people who go just a little too crazy over Christmas." Inspired by Ella Fitzgerald's Ella Wishes You A Swinging Christmas, Jane Monheit and her quartet bring a little heat to the sounds of the holidays.
Have you seen Jane during any of her other appearances at the Kimmel Center? How did tonight compare? What do you think of Jane's homage to Ella Fitzgerald's holiday swing?

What a great performance! I had seen Jane once before at the Kimmel in her 04 concert with Michael Feinstein.
Jane's voice is so smooth and the passion she puts into her singing can really be seen. "I Heard the Bells" and "Grown Up Christmas List" were my favorite moments of the night.
Now - foget the singing - how FABULOUS were her SHOES!?!
What a sweetie!
Managed to lock herself out of the Perelman Theater. Claims to love performing in the Perelman Theater. The "The Season" CD's sold out at the Kimmel, and one fan ran down to Tower Records to purchase one and just made it back in time for Jane to autograph it for her. One usher was so impressed with the show that she kissed me all over my face and thanked me for letting her experience one of the best concerts she ever saw. Good work Jane. . . .
Jane Monheit's voice during the holiday concert was rich and lush as egg nog, but her affectations were over the top and disengenuous. I saw her a few years back and attributed it to her young age and lack of experience; however, it seems to be getting worse with experience. Her arrangements were stylish, particularly the Portugese number, but jeez! One more throwback of the hair and I thought there would be a whiplash. Somebody with talent like that needs a manager to reign her in.
