How much time do you really spend thinking about the work your colleagues do? I’m not talking about the co-worker you share a cubicle with who seems to have plenty of time to circulate animated emails, I mean the ones you may pass in the hallway or chat with over the water cooler. Personally, I’m so focused on getting through my own to-do list that I don’t stop to wonder if Christine in Programming had trouble booking hotel rooms for the New York Philharmonic, or how Stef in Security manages to stay so calm, or how Will comes up with interesting new graphic designs project after project (although, when I stop to think about it, I’m pretty sure the folks at Ticket Philadelphia must hear phones ringing in their sleep).
As luck would have it, the phenomenal work these folks do has not gone unnoticed by others. Christine Volpe, Stefan Daniels, Will Nathanson and the entire staff of Ticket Philadelphia have all been recognized with Kimmel Center President’s Awards for their unflappable natures, dedication to going the extra mile, and the high standard of professionalism they bring to everything they do.
They were nominated by their peers, by the way, and I have to say it must have been a tough decision. I’ve been at the Kimmel Center since January and it’s not a stretch to say that in the past 10 months, I’ve worked with some of the smartest, most talented and downright nicest people here than I have anywhere throughout my 20+ years in the workforce. So, kudos to each and every President’s Award recipient – thanks for your inspiring example!
I worked at the Kimmel for 3 years (first, when you were known as "RPAC" and then for a while after the glorious transformation) and I have to agree with the choice of Stef and Christine... (I don't know Will, but I am sure he does a fabulous job!)
I would also like to throw Sally Kutyla in the mix as well - her patience and grace under pressure always amazed me!
Cheers to them. I've been here for a short time, less than a year now, and yes the folks here are a dedicated lot...as are the growing number in the exclusive "five year gang"--Evelyn and Jay! (along with founding member Tom!) Cheers!
Paul
Kudos...
