Hello All,
As we eagerly (I use this term in jest) await the arrival of rain and cooler temperatures (after a nice run of gorgeous weather), I am hoping to expand on the last bit of communication (see blog entitled “Blue Rain”). If you have not done so already, come up with a topic that for you is a representation of the blues. Once you have done that, create a brief scenario that is driven by your topic.
We are now ready to proceed with the following:
•What song (already in existence) would you use as background music for your; (1) topic and (2) scenario? (Please include the artist and the musical style of the piece) (No, the piece does not have to be a blues)
Remember, all information will be gathered and sorted for use in the special “secret” project. Until next time…
Musically chillin’

To me, the blues represents a feeling of smallness in an overwhelmingly huge universe and no matter how old I get, the blues will always take me to a place in my childhood when the sun started to go down on an autumn Sunday and the freedom of the weekend was drawing slowly to a close. It was like the chill of the evening and the darkness seemed to physically close in on my small corner of the world. Even talking about it now, I feel clausterphobic. It's not earth-shattering, but for a middle class kid from the burbs, it was an intense feeling.
It's not a blues song, but for some reason the soundtrack to this scenario will always be Crimson and Clover by Tommy James and the Shondells. I keep it handy on my iPod so I can get humble in a hurry when things start moving too fast.
