Nearly from their first meeting in the Eerie Children's Institute in Western Pennsylvania, Kiki and Herb have been performing. Now, the "Completely Insane Miss Kiki DuRane" and her enabling accompanist Herb have brought their "freak show for the post-modern set" to Philadelphia. What did you think of their show?
What a night! I was a Kiki virgin, and now am reborn. How does she do it?
My friends Matt & Mark, long-time devoted fans, couldn't help me understand what to expect. They just said, "We can't explain it ... you'll see."
So I went in with no expectations, nervously hoping to love her an eighth as much as Matt and Mark do. I certainly didn't expect to double over in tear-streaked laughter as Kiki spun her own unique twists to Dan Folgerberg and Bright Eyes songs.
I've been converted. May Kiki & Herb live forever (just as they claimed to in their "eternal life" bit about drinking the milk from the cow who ... well, let's just say he attended the birth of Jesus).
