Rain, wind, chilly temperatures, shorter days, what’s a music lover to do? Think of more pleasant weather? Remember the good times of summer? Go on vacation to a warmer climate? File it under the “I got da blues!” category? The first two options work for all of about five seconds. The third option is invalid because unless your planning on taking me with you, no ones going anywhere! That leaves us with the “I got da blues” category, which in turn got me to thinking about the “blues."
If you think of the things going on around the world and you juxtapose that with rain, wind, chilly temperatures and shorter days you end up with two ends of the spectrum as far as blues go. What I was thinking about is the type of blues somewhere in between the two spectrum ends. Of course being an educator sort of makes one project driven so here is your next assignment.
If you would, I’d like to know the following:
• What topic would you recommend that gives you the blues?
• Create a brief scenario of the blues that is driven by your topic.
